Lucid Motors is seeking a forward-thinking Telematics & Connectivity Software Architect to lead the design and implementation of vehicle connectivity systems, focusing on secure, scalable, and high-performance telematics architectures that enable seamless communication, OTA updates, and compliance with global standards within the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) ecosystem.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience architecting and developing automotive connectivity and telematics systems within software-defined vehicle (SDV) platforms.
- Deep technical expertise in embedded software and systems architecture for vehicle connectivity modules, middleware, and telematics firmware.
- Experience with service-oriented and cloud-native architectures for SDV platforms, enabling modular, updatable, and data-driven vehicle services.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, secure over-the-air (OTA) update frameworks and cloud-integrated communication pathways.
- Strong understanding of RF principles, antenna design, and wireless performance optimization in automotive environments.
- Advanced knowledge of cellular and wireless communication technologies (5G, LTE, V2X, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GNSS), including protocol stack integration with embedded and real-time systems.
- Demonstrated ability to architect end-to-end communication systems linking in-vehicle networks (CAN, CAN-FD, Automotive Ethernet) with telematics and cloud platforms using protocols such as SOME/IP, DDS, and MQTT.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement the vehicle’s embedded connectivity modules (apps, middleware, firmware).
- Drive system-level architecture decisions influencing future SDV connectivity platforms, collaborating with hardware, cloud, and software platform teams.
- Lead development of secure OTA frameworks for software, firmware, and telematics updates.
- Design and optimize communication routing architecture for low-latency, high-reliability operations.
- Ensure compliance and implementation of eCall system architectures (EU 2015/758, NG112, NENA i3).
- Define and enforce cybersecurity, privacy, and safety standards for connected vehicle systems.
- Integrate vehicle telematics with cloud-based solutions, edge computing, and intelligent data routing.

- BS degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Software Engineering, or related field.
- Masters preferred with focus on connected vehicle systems or telematics.
- Strong technical leadership, with the ability to mentor cross-functional teams and drive innovation across connectivity and RF domains.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with hardware/software teams, cybersecurity, and global regulatory experts.
- Provide technical mentorship and drive innovation across connectivity technologies.
