The University of Texas at Austin's VP for Business Strategies is looking to solve the problem of effectively rolling out data systems, designing data architecture, managing integrations, and ensuring new tools and processes are implemented across the COO portfolio to enhance data reliability, reporting, and collaboration.
Requirements
- Proficiency in data engineering tools, techniques, and coding languages
- Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse architecture and governance frameworks
- Experience working within mainframe enterprise systems
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data systems and system architecture, including field mapping to develop a data warehouse
- Manage system integrations with a focus on streamlining processes and enhancing collaboration across COO portfolio
- Facilitate and streamline the implementation of new systems by evaluating requests, approving proposals, and guiding integration efforts from planning through execution
- Conduct regular audits of systems and data to ensure data integrity
- Document processes and workflows in user, developer, and system administrator guides to support consistent usage and maintenance
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, digestible language tailored to various stakeholder groups
- Deliver regular training sessions on system functionality and data usage to promote adoption and proficiency
Other
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, engineering, management information systems or related fields
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Self-motivated and collaborative
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience working in higher education, research institutions, or large public sector organizations
- Proficiency in developing technical documentation for various audiences
