Noom is looking to solve the problem of helping people live better, longer by connecting them to content, coaching, community, and clinicians, and is seeking a Technical Lead Manager to lead the technical evolution and strategic growth of key areas of their architecture.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of experience as a backend or full stack engineer, with 2-3 years managing engineering teams, ideally in a Java/Kotlin environment.
- A hands-on approach to architecture and system ownership, with the ability to coach and mentor direct reports.
- Proven success in leading complex, cross-functional projects to completion.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A history of growing teams through thoughtful hiring, culture building, and technical leadership.
- A passion for mentorship and helping engineers grow.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow engineering teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Provide architectural oversight and technical direction, driving the design and implementation of APIs and services with a focus on functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Own and actively manage critical systems, ensuring high availability and seamless integrations across platforms.
- Lead complex projects from concept to delivery, with clear planning, prioritization, and execution.
- Remain hands-on with the codebase, setting strong standards and leading by example.
