Amazon is looking for Technical Program Manager interns to apply project management best practices to make teams more efficient, drive projects from initiation through delivery, and collaborate with different teams to complete a whole product. The goal is to leverage technology to solve problems and fully learn the products and systems involved in their projects.

Requirements

  • Experience previously in program or project management
  • Knowledge of project management tools and software
  • Knowledge of industry technologies in program or product domain (e.g., hardware, network, software, systems) and how to apply those technologies to solve problems
  • Knowledge of collecting data from log files, data stores, SQL, and APIs
  • Experience transforming raw thoughts into clear technical documentation and/or direction.
  • Able to dive deeply into technical details (e.g., key dependencies, design choices, operability, etc.) and drive constructive discussions with engineers.
  • Understands a broad range of techniques for conducting technical analysis and know when to use them.

Responsibilities

  • Define project requirements and work to clarify the technical implementation by driving design discussions
  • Identify predictors and causes of business related problems and implement novel approaches related to forecasting and prediction.
  • Identify, develop, manage, and execute analyses to uncover areas of opportunity and present written business recommendations.
  • Define analytical approaches to uncover new insights and formulate recommendations that improve processes.
  • Influence technology at the component level.
  • Interface with engineering disciplines to deliver project requirements

Other

  • Internships across all seasons are full-time positions, and interns should expect to work in office, Monday-Friday, up to 40 hours per week typically between 8am-5pm.
  • Interns should not have conflicts such as classes or other employment during the Amazon work-day.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of one quarter/semester/trimester remaining in their studies after their internship concludes.
  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Are enrolled in a academic program that is physically located in the United States
