IonQ is developing the world's most powerful full-stack quantum computer and needs to identify use cases where their quantum computers can make a significant technical, commercial, and societal impact, and to streamline processes for delivering innovative quantum applications.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of general computational methods, algorithms
  • Working knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum computing, quantum circuits

Responsibilities

  • Manage initial, recurring and ad-hoc meetings with customers, partners and prospects. Document and track action items, aggregate insights and report-out internally
  • Increase operational rigor and reduce waste by implementing the “right amount” of process without slowing down innovation
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to originate new projects and ensure end-to-end success of activities ranging from one-off events, multi-party demos and multi-year collaborations
  • Create and manage project timelines, milestones and deliverables; ensure resource alignment and drive project teams forward at a rapid pace
  • Aggregate and report high-level insights across multiple projects to a wide stakeholder base including internal/external customers and senior management.
  • Communicate and translate complex topics – industrial use cases, quantum computing – across technical, business and general audiences
  • Foster the transition of technology and capabilities from R&D to production

Other

  • M.S. or Ph.D in physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science or other technical domain; or B.S. and equivalent years of experience
  • 3+ years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Subject matter expertise in an applications area such as industrial engineering, finance, pharma/healthcare, chemistry, computer vision and operations research
  • Experience handling multiple projects with many dependencies
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including interfacing with subject matter experts, senior leadership, business executives, VIP customers, etc.
  • Ability to lead through influence across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong commitment to customer advocacy, success and customer engagement
  • Capacity to manage and dynamic team environment with tight deadlines, multiple stakeholders and continuous growth
  • Prior experience working directly with partners, collaborators and clients
  • Prior experience working on federal/government or industry contracts
  • Accommodate occasional travel and evening/off-hours work to ensure customer success (need-basis)
  • Up to 10% travel
  • Must be a U.S. Person (e.g., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum) for export controls and government contracts work.
