The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is looking to solve the problem of designing and overseeing the implementation of secure and efficient Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems to meet client agency business needs.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, and deep learning methodologies to design and build AI models.
- Comprehensive understanding of data mining, structures, and modeling, and software architecture to effectively analyze and manage client agencies’ artificial intelligence strategy.
- Proficiency in machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Experience performing statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and applications, network structures, and data security protocols in an artificial intelligence context.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java to code and implement AI models and systems.
- Good understanding of data privacy and ethical considerations involved in the use of AI and data analysis and implementing them in the design and maintenance of AI systems.
Responsibilities
- Collect and analyze large sets of data to determine useful patterns and trends.
- Design and implement machine learning models and AI algorithms.
- Enhance existing AI systems and create new solutions based on business needs.
- Coordinate with other team members to integrate AI models into company platforms and services.
- Maintain updated knowledge on the latest AI trends and technologies.
- Prepare detailed reports on AI project progress and performance.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI technology to improve business processes.
Other
- Six (6) years of information technology experience, two (2) years of which must be within the discipline of artificial intelligence.
- Appointment to this position and continued employment with the agency is contingent upon obtaining and/or maintaining New York State residency within six months of hiring.
- Ability to work collaboratively with IT teams to design and implement effective artificial intelligence strategies and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex AI concepts to team members, stakeholders, and clients in a clear and understandable manner.
- Some positions may require up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs.
