Schwab is looking to transform the finance industry by challenging the status quo and empowering interns to make an impact on their careers and the company's technology. The internship aims to immerse interns in a technology role, focusing on improving, automating, and safeguarding Schwab systems.

Requirements

  • Solid foundation of Windows and/or Linux systems
  • Systems support, scripting, and/or development (Python, Java) exposure
  • Desire to learn and gain exposure to reliability, automation, orchestration, or continual improvement principles

Responsibilities

  • improve, automate, and safeguard systems while being engaged in system planning, configuration, monitoring, administration, maintenance, reliability, or security for Schwab systems
  • improve the reliability and effectiveness of services through monitoring and correcting tactical and strategic direction to troubleshoot system-specific problems
  • Balance solving problems, engineering solutions, and coding or scripting applications
  • Prevent problems by improving observability, monitoring solutions, metrics, and system design
  • Collaborate with business and technical partners to identify an issue’s root cause, resolution prioritization, and quality improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate maintenance activities, such as stress tests, disaster recovery tests, and certificate renewals
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities pertaining to information security risk monitoring

  • Be currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
  • Have enough credit hours to put you at a junior level status at a 4-year college or university
  • Have not already completed your bachelor's degree
  • Able and willing to relocate at your own expense if relocation is needed
  • Able to commit to working 40 hours a week for the 9 weeks of the internship dates of June 8, 2026 - August 7, 2026
  • Able to start full time employment during business hours between August 2026 - September 2027
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
