Collins Aerospace is seeking a Test Automation Systems Development Engineer to develop design verification testing (DVT) and automated production test deliverables/solutions for Satellite Communications Programs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in engineering design and development, preferably related to Test equipment development efforts.
- Experience working in the engineering laboratory and transitioning automated solutions to production environments, delivering hardware and software deliverables providing on-site training to final operators.
- Experience with National Instruments’ software suite, including TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW.
- Hardware station design efforts utilizing rack instrumentation, PXIe/MXI, VME application development.
- Experience with Digital, RF, and/or Power Supply test hardware and/or software design.
- Understanding of engineering processes: CMMI, 6 sigma.
- Software development for automating test stations in National Instruments TestStand, LabVIEW and/or LabWindows (CVI) is strongly recommended
Responsibilities
- Develop test hardware and software, from requirements definition through build and integration processes, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities.
- Design, support and integration skill sets may include multiple disciplines in communications, RF, analog, digital, firmware, as well as systems integration.
- In depth knowledge of computer architecture, COTs equipment, interconnects/interfaces and standard communication protocols
- Proven skills in software development and integration using tools including NI TestStand, LabVIEW and/or LabWindows (CVI)
- Prepare and clearly present your work product at project status meetings
- Understand and responsibility to meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments
- Work with mechanical engineering to design and develop test adapter and fixturing design activities. AutoCAD knowledge a plus

- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personnel interaction and collaboration with a multi-discipline team.
- Ability to function autonomously with limited supervision, as an individual contributor, within a multi-functional team environment
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
