The Radiological Emergency response organization (RERO) at Electric Boat Shipyard and Submarine Base, New London is looking to protect the health and safety of sailors, employees, the public, and the environment through emergency preparedness activities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in network administration
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to: Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PPT, etc.)
- Experience with PowerShell, SQL and VBA
- Previous or current experience in military cybersecurity regulations
- Naval Nuclear experience
- Technical writing experience
- Knowledge of operating systems, and application knowledge as well as an awareness of Information Assurance and network security requirements
Responsibilities
- Candidate shall have knowledge of operating systems, and application knowledge as well as an awareness of Information Assurance and network security requirements.
- Candidate will responsible to maintain ECC network (computers, visual displays, and phone system) and cloud base applications in a ready to response condition by conducting daily, weekly and monthly system testing.
- Assist in the coordination of the safe execution of complex Shipyard and SUBASE radiological emergency exercises, developing and integrating scenarios that test each team’s response capabilities while challenging the responders in order to expand their thinking including inputting the scenario in software applications.
- Support for Program outreach activities, to include engagement with Federal, State and local emergency managers, police departments, fire departments, hospitals and regional nuclear power activities.
- Coach and train Responders on computer systems to ensure they are prepared to respond to and manage complex and unusual situations.
- Performing network maintenance and interfacing unclassified and classified network administrators during troubleshooting.
- Maintaining the network information assurance compliance, interfacing and supporting Responders

- Candidate must apply for, obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) approved access to supported facilities (i.e., SUBASE New London)
- A Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering / Information Technology
- Strong technical writing, oral communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with internal & external customers including: RERO Personnel, Operations, Engineering, EBIT, UNISYS, State and local stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to continuously improve self and core business processes
