Intertek is seeking a Test Engineer to join their Transportation Technologies team to perform testing and evaluation of engine oil performance, contributing to their Total Quality Assurance expertise for the automotive industry.
Requirements
- Have at least a good understanding of engines and how they perform based on self-interest and experience and/or dedicated courses.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
- Basic knowledge of engines (gasoline or diesel) as well as their sub-systems is desired.
- Automotive/internal combustion engine project experience
- Well versed in automotive/internal combustion engine fundamentals
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluation of test procedures to determine compliance with applicable standard(s).
- Understand the scope of the project, identify, and ensure that test instruments and processes required to support the testing are prepared.
- Identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
- Follow established test plans.
- Set up and operate EUT (equipment under test); perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
- Perform testing of products in accordance with standards.
- Troubleshooting engine and/or instrumentation malfunctions.
