The Combat Weapons Systems (CWS) Facility Management Group needs a Test Engineer to act as a D448 Lab Manager, responsible for the development and maintenance of hotel services within CWS laboratory facilities, supporting technical resolutions for complex construction issues for submarines, and maintaining a prototypical hardware and software development lab.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a technical field
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering life-cycle and standards
  • Ability to perform typical schedule integrity checks and critical path analysis.

Responsibilities

  • support technical resolutions for a variety of complex construction issues for VIRGINIA & COLUMBIA Class Submarines.
  • investigation/evaluation of units and modules under various stages of construction.
  • supporting system operational testing, test execution, and evaluation of results while maintaining a prototypical hardware and software development lab.
  • working with facilities and vendors to perform repairs and normal maintenance on AC, power and other aspects of a protypical lab.
  • working with EB IT to have new network or power drops installed within an area of a lab
  • organizing and completing material sightings required for Special Property requirements.
  • develop status and analyze department specific integrated project schedules to support task planning, identify conflicts and support status efforts to help ensure timely project completion.

Other

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
  • Ability to obtain Secret level clearance
  • Self-motivated with the ability to think objectively and drive technical solutions to successful conclusion
  • Candidates must be highly motivated team players.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to present technical/programmatic content to internal and external stakeholders
  • This position may require an occasional 2nd shift depending on department needs, approximately 3 - 5 times per year.
