Lunar Outpost is looking to solve the problem of testing and validation of lunar rovers and other spaceflight hardware.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience drafting technical documents such as test plans, technical reports, and procedures
- Hands-on experience working with hardware, including machining, electrical wiring, and using hand tools in a shop environment
- Fundamental knowledge of space mission testing concepts, including qualification vs. acceptance testing and requirements verification
Responsibilities
- Test Documentation: Write detailed test procedures, test plans, and reports, ensuring compliance with rigorous aerospace industry standards
- Test Hardware Design and Fabrication: Design, build, and assemble test fixtures and custom equipment required for component and full-system tests
- Component and Full System Testing: Assist in executing comprehensive tests on subsystems and full robotic systems, including integration tests for spaceflight hardware
- Environmental Testing: Run tests in Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) chambers, simulant testbeds, and other environmental setups to simulate space conditions
- Data Analysis: Analyze test data to ensure hardware meets the mission requirements and provide feedback for iterative design improvements
- Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure test objectives are met
Other
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment
- Exhibits strong organizational and time management skills under pressure and in stressful situations
