SubCom engineers, manufactures, and installs subsea fiber optic data cables, which are critical for global communication and form the backbone of the world's digital infrastructure. The CTES department specifically supports the design transfer of optical communication products and the development of software applications for functional test processes.
Requirements
- writing, debugging, and maintaining software on Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems using National Instruments Labwindows/CVI (ANSI C), TestStand test executive, and Linux C environments.
- familiar with software development Integrated Development Environments
- develop automated functional test code and routines based on sound engineering and laboratory practices.

Responsibilities
- Assembles, splices, and functionally tests electro-optical modules and trays which are the building blocks for SubCom underwater Repeaters, Branching Units, and WSS ROADM network elements.
- Assembles, splices, and functionally tests SubCom under water Repeaters, Branching Units, and WSS ROADM network elements.
- Manufactures our Open Cable Terminal Equipment products.
- Manufactures optical fiber Bragg gratings used in the manufacture of SubCom underwater network elements.
- Developing software applications, GUIs, and database parsers used for functional test processes for optical communication products.
- Assigned software development project(s) commensurate with their skill level
- Writing, debugging, and maintaining software on Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems using National Instruments Labwindows/CVI (ANSI C), TestStand test executive, and Linux C environments.
Other
- Interns are typically sophomore, junior, or senior students enrolled in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science curriculums matriculating towards Bachelor of Science degrees.
