The Walt Disney Studios is looking to solve creative problems through innovation, strategy, and forward-thinking within their Motion Picture Technology group, specifically in the area of image processing workflows for film and television production.
Requirements
- Familiarity with image processing concepts, color management, or visual effects workflows.
 
- Interest in tools and platforms such as DaVinci Resolve, Nuke, Avid, Premiere, After Effects, or Baselight.
 
- Exposure to or curiosity about ACES, OpenColorIO, and modern color pipelines.
 
- Basic understanding of or interest in machine learning and its applications in imaging or media production.
 
Responsibilities
- Support the Image & Color and Workflow Engineering teams in developing and testing end-to-end image and color workflows used across film production.
 
- Assist in evaluating and prototyping AI/ML tools for image, video, and audio processing.
 
- Help test and validate camera debayer and image processing pipelines within the Motion Picture Plates Lab.
 
- Contribute to color management setup and testing for studio review systems such as RV and DaVinci Resolve.
 
- Collaborate with engineers and artists to gather requirements, document findings, and help translate R&D concepts into production-ready tools.
 
- Research and present emerging technologies in imaging, color science, computer vision, and generative AI relevant to studio workflows.
 
- Participate in experimental and exploratory testing to help improve creative and technical production tools.
 
Other
- Junior or Senior year preferred
 
- Major or previous coursework in in Film Production, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Image Science, or a related technical field.
 
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
 
- Be at least 18 years of age
 
- Possess unrestricted work authorization
