Marine Solutions is seeking a Civil Engineering student to assist in infrastructure and construction projects, providing practical experience while supporting the firm's mission of building bridges and waterfront infrastructure.
Requirements
- Higher-level mathematics, including trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and calculus, and its application to surveying and engineering computations.
- Knowledge of construction practices (concrete, steel, carpentry, welding, etc.).
- Proficient in technical writing.
- Proficient in basic computer functions (Microsoft Office, etc.).
- Current medical certifications including bloodborne pathogens, first aid, CPR, and emergency oxygen administration if performing fieldwork.
- Curriculum focus in structural or geotechnical engineering (preferred).
- AutoCAD proficiency (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections under the direction of higher-level engineers.
- Prepare reports, studies, and related documents.
- Participate in technical review meetings with engineering and planning staff.
- Review engineering plans, reports, studies, and related documents.
- Assist with various engineering tasks and assignments such as preparing for and conducting field inspections, data reduction, reporting, engineering analyses, and design.
- Work under the direction of a Project Engineer or higher who makes assignments, provides guidance, and reviews work.
- Ensure work is completed according to instructions and in accordance with accepted principles and practices of civil engineering.
