Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Design Engineer/Systems Engineer to assist the 23rd Electronic Warfare Squadron, 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing (350 SWW) in developing and testing mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thereby enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat.
Requirements
- At least 2 years' applicable software design engineering experience is required.
- Candidates must have the potential ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Applicants must have a working knowledge of computer systems and an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software
- Strong programming skills and knowledge of various programming languages, such as Python, C-Sharp, Visual basic; Object-oriented programming; Database management and SQL; Testing and debugging skills; Cloud computing skills;
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, database architecture, agile & project management
- Previous experience in Mission Data and digital signal processing is highly preferred.
- Also desired (but not required) is knowledge of EW weapons systems development, test and evaluation, and systems engineering.
Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will design, develop, troubleshoot and test software applications in support of mission data reprogramming.
- The successful candidate will work with other mission data engineers and develop requirements, prepare validation and verification test plans, and organize and participate in MD configuration control boards.
- The successful candidate will collaborate with system users to define new software requirements for mission data reprogramming.
- In addition to writing code in support of the MD reprogramming process the candidate will also create schematic and wireframes and ensure designs match user’s preferences including process documentation, flowcharts and layout diagrams that will enable the discovery of any bus inconsistencies that prevent the code from working as intended.
- The successful candidate will also be expected to be able to train users on the efficient use of the created programs, and assist in the development of similar code for other systems in the 350 SWW.
- Gather requirements and understand how the software will be used for E-3 / E-7 mission data reprogramming.
- Write code that supports MD reprogramming process

- The candidate must be a US Citizen and have the character and background to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. An active, current Secret security clearance at hire is required.
- The successful candidate may be required to travel, both domestic and international, so possessing a US passport or having an ability to obtain one is required.
- Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, such as mathematics, science, or engineering.
