Zscaler needs to ensure compliance with international import regulations, tariff classifications, valuation standards, and recordkeeping practices across its global operations to support digital transformation and maintain security.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of attorney experience with U.S. and international export/import regulations at a law firm, multinational corporation, or government agency
  • In-depth knowledge of customs laws, import clearance procedures, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and global freight operations
  • Working knowledge of U.S. export control and UK/EU dual-use regulations
  • Experience working with import clearance and regulations outside of the U.S., including encryption import and registration requirements
  • Familiarity with key compliance risk areas such as international sanctions, anti-corruption, and anti-bribery compliance
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), U.S. CBP customs broker license, or similar certifications

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance to internal teams to ensure compliance with international import regulations, tariff classifications, valuation standards, and recordkeeping practices
  • Leading collaboration with logistics teams to ensure consistent customs compliance across global operations while maintaining strong relationships with customs authorities
  • Reviewing and negotiating trade compliance provisions in commercial contracts, such as import/export obligations and customs terms, while overseeing legal instruments like Powers of Attorney
  • Partnering on company-wide compliance programs, including policy creation, legal training initiatives, and process improvements to support business goals
  • Supporting the Senior Compliance Counsel on special projects and other corporate compliance program initiatives

Other

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • Ability to foster collaboration and work closely with business stakeholders to understand their unique processes, applications, and technologies
