AECOM is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineering Manager to manage and implement traffic engineering solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability for traffic engineering projects.
Requirements
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience in Traffic Signal Design, Traffic Control, Signing and Striping, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
- Strong knowledge of traffic control devices, roadway design, and traffic safety principles.
- Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.
- Experience in construction phase services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage traffic engineering projects from conception to completion.
- Develop and review traffic impact studies, traffic signal designs, and roadway safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and findings to clients and stakeholders.
- Conduct field investigations and data collection to support project development.
- Utilize traffic simulation software and other engineering tools to analyze and solve complex traffic issues.

- BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Master's degree.
- 8+ years of experience.
- Proven track record of working with LADOT and Caltrans.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
