AHRC New York City is seeking a Transition Developer to address the need for inclusive community activities and instructional programs for individuals with multiple disabilities, aiming to support their transition into full and equitable lives.
Requirements
- Experience with the planning, implementation and evaluation of community based instructional programs.
Responsibilities
- Assists staff in identifying priority community skills for people served. Develops and manages goals and objectives for learning. Identifies community settings that constitute the people supported likely natural environment.
- Develops generic task analysis to fit the range variation that the people served may experience while learning in the community.
- Conducts environmental analysis to ensure that settings are age appropriate and provides normalizing experiences.
- Identifies and develops linkages with existing generic programs for the purpose of creating inclusive experiences for the people with disabilities.
- Designs and implements staff training programs in a specialty area.
- Identifies necessary program supports to assist in transition process.
- Trains staff in the utilization of curricula resources and in effective teaching strategies in order to assist participants in achieving valued outcomes.
Other
- BA in education, special education, fine arts, movement or specialty field.
- One year experience working with people with developmental disabilities a plus.
- New York or Tri-State driver's license for more than one year, in good standing.
