Sargent & Lundy is looking to solve business and technical problems in the Grid business unit by assigning an Associate Engineering Intern to work on a project team and assist the engineering team members in the execution of their project work, including the design of new and/or modifications and upgrades to transmission and distribution engineering projects.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power
- Active enrollment in a BS or MS ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
- Prior, related internship or co-op experience in our business area
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.
- Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.

- Self-Starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community
