Sargent & Lundy is looking for an intern to assist engineering teams in the design, modification, and upgrade of transmission and distribution engineering projects within their Grid business unit.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with an expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 and a strong academic background.
- Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may also be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
- Active enrollment in a BS or MS ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Prior, related internship or co-op experience in our business area.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.
- Be involved in power designs and the preparation of documents and specifications for the procurement of major equipment, structures, and related installation services.

- This position has a target start date in summer 2026.
- This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of spending three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.
