WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Transportation Planning Intern to support the NJ Planning Team and gain hands-on experience in Transportation Planning and GIS tasks
Requirements
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, MS 365/Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite and ESRI ArcGIS
- Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS, Adobe Creative Suite, and Census Data retrieval and analysis (preferred)
- Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
- Experience with Public Communications, Outreach and Community Engagement
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others
- Analytical Thinking (preferred)
- Self-Learning (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Support a variety of Transportation Planning and GIS tasks with the goal of advancing technical, social, and ethical skills
- Learn basic principles of Transportation Planning
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary analysis
- Support the preparation of maps, cartographic output, plan graphics and final reports
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation
- Complete training on assigned tasks
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct
Other
- Actively enrolled in an accredited Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Engineering, or Geography degree, or related, Undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later
- Must be 18 or older
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
- Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects
