Peraton is looking to modernize the National Airspace System (NAS) through the FAA's Brand New Air Traffic Control System (BNATCS) contract, aiming to enhance safety, efficiency, and integrate next-generation technologies like AI, satellite navigation, and UAS.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience working as a software engineer focused on user interfaces
- Experience working with front-end technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript and CSS, along with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue.js, JQuery, etc.
- Experience working with back-end technologies such as Java and Python, especially for the development of APIs, web services, and web applications
- Prior experience working in an Agile software development environment
- Experience with professional software development practices, such as source code management, code reviews, and testing
- A demonstrated ability to pick up new programming languages and technologies quickly
- Experience with front-end testing tools, such as Cypress, Jest, and Selenium
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leading experts in government, academia, and industry to address some of the most complex challenges in modern aviation.
- Contribute to critical research programs at premier facilities such as the William J. Hughes Technical Center, where cutting-edge simulations and testing shape the National Airspace System (NAS).
- Bridge research and operational application, ensuring innovative solutions are practical, safe, and ready for deployment across the aviation ecosystem.
- Conduct and guide research and development on technologies supporting the NAS, airport infrastructure, and air traffic management.
- Lead or contribute to design, testing, and innovation initiatives for next-generation aviation systems.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field
