Walmart is looking to solve the problem of detecting and preventing fraud in its online and offline commerce by developing cutting-edge predictive models and analytics solutions.

Requirements

  • Technical expertise in machine learning, statistical analysis, and storytelling.
  • Proficient in machine learning and data mining packages in Python.
  • Experience working with large data sets and distributed computing tools (GCP/BigQuery experience preferred).
  • Programming skills in one of the following languages: Java, or JavaScript on a UNIX or Linux platform.
  • Production deployment experiences preferred.
  • Data science, machine learning, optimization models
  • Using open source frameworks (for example, scikit learn, tensorflow, torch)

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement predictive models with high-dimensional, fast-moving real-time datasets.
  • Own fraud/abuse risks in a product or segment of a product, be a strategic partner to product development teams, sharing insights and providing recommendations through effective communication and storytelling with data.
  • Use ML/AI, deep learning, and data mining techniques to develop robust models for anomaly detection such as account takeover (ATO) risk detection, membership fraud and abuse, trial abuse, LTO abuse, and bot attack.
  • Build data visualizations and interactive dashboards for monitoring and sharing business insights internally and externally.
  • Unique opportunities in research and US patent filings to address new fraud issues, develop new tools, or automate processes.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
