Walmart is aiming to complete a modernized manager web experience by Q3, enabling them to decommission the legacy GTA Portal and fully transition Workbrain into a headless architecture.
Requirements
- Proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript and frameworks such as React and Node.js.
- Familiarity with React Native and building cross-platform applications.
- Experience working in modern DevOps environments (CI/CD, Git, containers, etc.).
- Understanding of frontend/backend design patterns and web performance optimization.
- Exposure to cloud-based architectures (Azure, GCP, or AWS preferred).
- Experience contributing to system migrations or modernizations is a plus.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to emerging technologies like GenAI.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of performant, secure, and scalable applications using React, Node.js, and Typescript.
- Build and maintain features in a shared React Native container that supports both web and mobile platforms.
- Migrate existing workflows from the legacy GTA Portal to a modern architecture with feature parity and improved UX.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and QA to build high-impact features and solve technical problems.
- Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
- Support testing, deployment, and monitoring of new functionality.
- Implement automation and CI/CD best practices for faster, safer releases.
Other
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
