Walmart/Vizio is looking to hire a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge software solutions that drive business forward, enhance cloud-based infrastructure and development workflows, and deliver innovative solutions that support strategic goals.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with software development in languages like Java or Go.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
  • Ability to write and deploy automation pipelines.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes or ECS.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, monitor, review, unit test, and deploy code for the team’s services.
  • Write and maintain Terraform (IaC) configurations and CI/CD tools scripts.
  • Take ownership of releasing code for new features.
  • Build and maintain cloud-based infrastructure like Kafka clusters and EC2 instances.
  • Triage application and system issues to debug, track, and recover services quickly.
  • Collaborate with developers, SREs, and other teams to streamline workflows.
  • Contribute to and maintain existing documentation, including system architecture diagrams and incident management runbooks.

Other

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA, BS, or MS in Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area.
  • Option 2: 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
