Amazon is looking to solve user experience problems through strategic and creative design solutions, incorporating complex technical and business requirements into research and advocating research findings to diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Experience reviewing user research and data to build a strategic and user-friendly design
  • Currently working towards a Master's Degree or above in Human-Centered Interaction, Statistics, Psychology, Design, Computer Science, or other equivalent discipline
  • Experience user research or other experience from a technical field, such as software development, systems management, or similar
  • Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • A passion and capacity to advocate on behalf of our users.
  • Creative Materials Guidance: Show your thinking: Include at least two projects that demonstrate your process and thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a comprehensive research plan.
  • Identify best method or mix of quantitative and qualitative methods based on priorities, research questions, timeline, and resourcing.
  • Design, conduct, and analyze results from 1-3 studies including usability lab studies, remote research, field studies, and survey design.
  • Identify and incorporate complex technical and business requirements into research
  • Help collect and analyze user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, server logs and online experiments.
  • Advocate research findings to diverse audiences through written reports and in-person presentations.
  • Negotiate design solutions in relation to business goals.

  • Are enrolled in a academic program that is physically located in the United States
  • Are enrolled in a Master's Degree or PhD program
  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
  • Have at least two creative materials for Amazon to review.
