Motorola Solutions is looking to improve the safety of communities, schools, hospitals, and businesses through the design of life-changing and life-saving products, applications, and services, and the User Experience Research Intern will contribute to this goal by conducting research for end-to-end solutions for public safety and commercial customers.

Requirements

  • Practical, hands-on experience with common UX research tools, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • Understanding of business questions and design research plans into testable research goals
  • Data analysis & synthesis skills
  • Research tool proficiency, including in-depth user interviews, concept and prototype testing, usability testing, heuristic evaluation
  • Experience with survey research, moderating focus groups
  • Ability to organize data and translate research findings into actionable insights
  • Knowledge of research methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research for end to end solutions for public safety and commercial customers across diverse areas
  • Collaborate with other researchers to capture and synthesize insights to work with other designers to ideate, prototype and deliver designs
  • Approach the project as part of a greater strategy
  • Innovate and be creative in approach and implementation
  • Organize data and translate research findings into actionable insights with attention to detail
  • Select appropriate research methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods), and create study plans
  • Moderate focus groups, survey research

Other

  • High School Diploma is required
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Students requiring current or future visa sponsorship must be pursuing a minimum of a Master’s Degree with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, demonstrating strong empathy and a passion for understanding user needs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work with the full range of user experience design professions as well as product management and software development
