Google's Visual Designers need to weave space, typography, color, iconography, and texture together to help people successfully navigate products, ensuring products are beautiful and accessible. The UX team plays an integral part in gathering insights about the behaviors and perceptions of people who use products to inspire and inform design. The Visual Designer will partner with researchers and teams to develop and enhance key emerging AI capabilities critical to Platforms and Devices (P&D) products, design and experiment with new applications and step-change user experiences, and help launch novel experiences and capabilities in production.

Requirements

  • 8 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
  • Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience in product design or UX.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies.
  • Experience in video creation, for professional or personal purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to develop groundbreaking applications of Large Language Model (LLM) technology through beautiful and intuitive interface designs.
  • Advocate for UX product strategy, design standards, and a consistent design language across Google.
  • Foster a user-centric design culture, values, and principles within the group and across the broader organization to elevate the overall craft.
  • Partner closely with designers, product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to grasp requirements and deliver creative and thoughtful solutions.
  • Deliver high-quality design solutions that account for organizational and technical constraints.
  • Rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution.
  • Collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.
