Lenovo's AI Ecosystems team is seeking a UX Motion Designer to lead the development of motion design systems that bring clarity, delight, and cohesion to our AI-driven experiences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in UX or product design with a strong focus on UX specific motion design.
- Demonstrated experience working within or contributing to a design system.
- Experience with developing motion systems for shipped products that are in the marketplace.
- Expertise in After Effects, Figma, and emerging prototyping tools (e.g., Lottie, Framer, Principle).
- Experience designing motion systems for AI or multimodal interfaces.
- Familiarity with implementation constraints and handoff workflows across Android, Windows, and web platforms.
- Knowledge of emerging tools in motion prototyping or generative design.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve UX motion design systems that align with AI-driven product experiences.
- Translate complex interactions into motion prototypes, specs, and handoff documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the Design Systems team to integrate motion into Figma libraries and guidelines.
- Partner with technical partners and engineers to ensure motion intent is preserved through implementation across devices.
- Develop motion principles that enhance clarity, usability, and brand identity across multimodal interfaces.
- Lead motion critiques and reviews, providing mentorship and direction to peers and cross-functional teams.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes using tools like After Effects, Figma, Framer, Principle, or emerging prototyping tools to test and communicate motion behaviors.

- This role will join us at our downtown Chicago, IL office location on a hybrid schedule; 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Animation, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
- Comfort leading motion design workstreams and mentoring others.
- Strong understanding of motion for usability, accessibility, and scaling performance across multiple platforms.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
