Turnitin is seeking an experienced researcher to help increase their velocity in delivering knowledge, products, and capabilities to help educational institutions empower student outcomes with academic integrity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and analyzing quantitative research studies (e.g., large-scale surveys, product usage analysis, experimental designs, segmentation studies)
  • Strong statistical analysis skills with the ability to apply the right methods (e.g., regression, factor analysis, significance testing, clustering) to generate robust insights
  • Ability to independently manage end-to-end research projects, from scoping and data collection through to synthesis and communication of results
  • Experience integrating quantitative findings with qualitative insights to provide a holistic view of user needs and behaviors
  • Demonstrated ability to transform data-driven insights into actionable recommendations that directly influence product decisions
  • Proven expertise in collaborating with cross-functional product and engineering teams
  • A strong research portfolio that demonstrates multiple methods and approaches to research along with the tangible outcomes and impact of the work

Responsibilities

  • Independently spearhead both small-scale and mid-sized research projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify and define research objectives
  • Equip designers, product managers, and other stakeholders with insights into user needs
  • Contribute to streamlining and enhancing the operational efficiency of the research team
  • Identify and employ the optimal channels for disseminating research findings
  • Plan and actively engage in participatory workshops
  • Champion and advocate for best practices in UX research across the organization

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human-computer interaction (HCI), statistics, social science, or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge and skills equivalent to 2–7 years of industry experience in UX research or related fields (e.g., market research, behavioral science, applied statistics)
  • Prior experience conducting research specifically within the education sector
  • Experience researching AI-related topics
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with a knack for building relationships and influencing cross-functional teams
