The Vascular Bioengineering Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a research engineer to conduct experimental biomechanical testing of vascular tissue.
Requirements
- base knowledge of or ability to quickly learn experimental techniques
- Previous experience in the techniques is preferred
- ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- ability to procure tissue samples from animals or from humans (from the OR and/or autopsy suite)
- ability to program and debug computer systems
- ability to maintain a variety of databases
- ability to design, fabricate (3D print) and test prototypes
Responsibilities
- biomechanical testing of vascular tissue, both animal and human samples, under various conditions or treatments
- troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- procure tissue samples from animals or from humans (from the OR and/or autopsy suite)
- program and debug computer systems
- maintain a variety of databases
- design, fabricate (3D print) and test prototypes
