BNY is looking for a Vice President, Scrum Leader to join their Agile team within the Loans Enablement Platform. This role aims to improve team productivity, value delivery, and overall performance by ensuring effective Scrum practices and coaching.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams on large initiatives
  • Knowledge of various Agile approaches including Scrum, SAFe, XP, Kanban, Spotify, etc.
  • Awareness and experience with Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games
  • Proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology, demonstrated by experience in an engineering environment
  • Strong ability to translate ambiguous topics into actionable plans working with multiple business, operational, and technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of Agile methods, User Story writing, and prioritization techniques

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all Scrum events take place, are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox
  • Remove impediments to the Team’s progress and track and resolve team dependencies
  • Help Teams focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done and deliver expected outcomes with high quality
  • Facilitate and guide Teams to achieve daily and Iteration goals aligned with program objectives
  • Use data-driven approaches to eliminate waste, improve productivity, and enhance team performance
  • Facilitate Team-level events, readiness, and help Teams develop Iteration Goals and Program Increment (PI) objectives
  • Aggregate team objectives into Program Objectives and foster innovation within regional/global large programs

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with technical background
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Preferred Agile certifications including CSM, PSM, SAFe SSM
  • Talent for driving change, building consensus, and resolving conflicts across multiple parties
