BNY is seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Front-End Engineer II to join their PLATFORM TOOLS ENGINEERING team to make an impact in the following ways, including partnering with stakeholders, serving as a subject matter expert, defining and implementing system enhancements, resolving high impact issues, and applying advanced knowledge of coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
Requirements
- Exceptional working knowledge of designing and developing ETL processes
- Strong Python skills
- Strong SQL skills to work on Relational databases
- Strong Microsoft SQL Server skills
- Strong Microsoft SSIS skills
- Experience in the agile environment using tools such as Jira and GitLab
- Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure proper requirements are defined to complete requested work in a sprint.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on data flowing in and out of our databases.
- Define and help implement system enhancements to deploy new processes and process improvements.
- Resolve high impact issues with an evaluation of complex business processes.
- Apply advanced knowledge of coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Comply with BNY’s standard development and change methodology.
- Assess risk and practice consideration for clients and assets both through applicable laws and regulations and sound ethical judgment.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
- 7-9 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans.
- Prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies.
- Extensive experience with developing and supporting front end development required
