Requirements

• Expertise in conversational design, adaptive UI, multimodal interfaces, and scalable design systems.
• Ability to translate AI platform capabilities into world-class product experiences that scale globally.
• Strong collaboration skills with research, content, engineering, and data science peers.
• A track record of innovation in B2C and B2B design, particularly in search, personalization, and platform experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-first design strategy across Expedia’s portfolio of brands, ensuring AI is embedded in every stage of the customer journey.
• Own the design of conversational and agentic experiences—from trip planning to real-time assistance—pioneering new paradigms in adaptive UI and multimodal design.
• Architect scalable design systems that enable consistent, responsible, and innovative use of AI across multiple products and surfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary peers—research, content design, design systems, engineering, and data science—to build best practices in AI design, including model training and systematic methodologies.
• Forge and activate strategic partnerships to integrate cutting-edge AI capabilities into Expedia experiences.
• Extend AI innovation into B2B—reimagining how partners in flights, lodging, cars, cruises, and advertising leverage AI for discovery, personalization, and growth.
• Drive thought leadership within the design org on machine-readable systems design, AI ethics, and the future of human-AI collaboration.

• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to mentor senior leaders and empower ICs alike.
• Grow and mentor a multi-level team of designers and leaders, building a culture of experimentation, craft, and bold vision.
• The total cash range for this position is $367,000 to $428,000.
• Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $489,000, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
