Morgan Health, a business unit of JPMorgan Chase, is looking to improve the quality, equity, and affordability of employer-sponsored health care in the United States through investments, collaborations, data analytics, and policy advocacy.
Requirements
- Subject matter expertise in medical and pharmaceutical claims data, including familiarity with common coding standards and standardizations, groupers, data transformations (e.g., TUVA) and logic (e.g., HEDIS rules)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and data quality principles
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining data models, data marts, and ETL processes
- Hands-on experience with coding languages such as Python, R, and SQL, as well as data engineering tools including Databricks and dbt
- Experience developing technical documentation and requirements for data or software engineering teams to implement
- Expertise in implementing AI solutions, including LLM and Copilot, modernizing technology stacks, and enabling reporting through business intelligence and data visualization tools
- Strong background in creating data infrastructure and transformations to support value-based care contracting and reconciliation processes
Responsibilities
- Maintain a holistic view of the internal health care warehouse semantics layer and effectively prioritize improvements and expansions with an eye toward scalability
- Design and mockup analytic solutions such as data marts, and metrics with core business logic, etc. within the team’s analytics environment to support Morgan Health use cases
- Validate the proposals with stakeholders on Morgan Health and translate into clear technical requirements for the data engineering team
- Develop testing framework and test code to ensure data products match established requirements
- Become a subject matter expert on Morgan Health’s data sources: understand their context, limitations, and maintain data lineage documentation to promote transparency for end users
- Leverage familiarity with health care data to proactively investigate, identify root causes, and address data quality issues to ensure Morgan Health produces accurate and reliable insights
- Scope and manage new data ingestions in collaboration with upstream data providers: planning data transformations, integration, and validation processes
Other
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline
- 7+ years of professional experience (or 5+ years of professional experience + related graduate degree) in data engineering, analytics engineering or product design thinking with a strong emphasis on health care data
- Team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to successfully multitask effectively, balance competing priorities, and design creative solutions
- Ability to work directly with non-technical business stakeholders to effectively communicate strategy and understand their needs
