BNY is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join the Liquidity & Margin services Production Support team to ensure operational stability of platforms in the production environment and bring new automation procedures to improve velocity and quality of engineering efforts.
Requirements
- 10+ years of diverse experience in information technology required.
- Solid Business knowledge on Liquidity investments and margin services.
- Exclusively worked UNIX/Linux operating systems.
- Database knowledge with strong SQL skills like Oracle, Sql Server, etc.
- Hands-on experience in scripting or programming languages like Python, Perl, Shell scripting, etc.
- Experience understanding /analyzing securities data, handling market vendor pricing feeds, working in time-sensitive projects is highly desired.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operational stability of the Platforms in the production environment.
- Bring new automation procedures to improve the velocity and quality of engineering efforts.
- Administration and management of configuration management tools.
- Software builds and release management; script/automation of build process, creation of beta and formal versions of the application.
- Translation of development team requirements into Application/System configuration.
- Software configuration management; managing defects, participating in software change control board.
- Using Systems and Networking knowledge to isolate and fix application problems.

- 2-3 days in office required
- Working closely with Internal Stakeholders, Development Architects/Managers & developers, across locations, to ensure timely delivery
- Build quality frameworks to provide feedback loop to developers to easy and improved contribution
- Vulnerability management including patching systems and implementing security controls
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial.
- 6-8 years of diverse experience in information technology required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
