BNY is looking for a Vice President, Scrum Leader to join their Treasury Services Platform in their Agile team to establish and maintain Scrum practices, coach teams, and facilitate stakeholder collaboration to drive transformative solutions.
Requirements
- Experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams on large initiatives.
- Knowledge of various Agile approaches including Scrum, SAFe, XP, Kanban, and Spotify.
- Awareness and experience with Agile techniques such as User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games.
- Proficiency with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to quickly learn new technology and translate ambiguous topics into actionable plans working with multiple stakeholders.
- Preferred Agile certifications including CSM, PSM, SAFe SSM.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain Scrum practices, facilitating understanding of Scrum theory and practice within the Scrum Team and the organization.
- Remove impediments to the Team’s progress and ensure all Scrum events take place, are positive, productive, and kept within timeboxes.
- Coach Teams in self-management, cross-functionality, and help focus on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done.
- Facilitate stakeholder collaboration, support Product Owners in backlog management and empirical product planning, and help the organization adopt an empirical approach for complex work.
- Track and resolve team dependencies, enable programs to meet expected outcomes through problem identification and decision-making support, and foster innovation within regional/global programs.
- Facilitate Team-level and program-level events including Big Room Planning, help define iteration goals and program increment objectives, and aggregate team objectives into program objectives.
- Guide and coach one or more programs on agile practices to deliver high-quality products and services, ensuring enterprise project and program lifecycle activities are managed to completion.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with previous technical experience.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
- Strong talent for driving change, building consensus, resolving conflicts, and problem-solving.
