BNY is seeking a VP, Studio Designer to join their Design Hub to partner with different areas of the bank that have not historically worked with Design, on a project basis. This role will provide guidance and technical expertise for complex user experience activities.

Requirements

  • Experience providing guidance and technical expertise for the most complex user experience activities that include user research and testing, interactive design, and visual design.
  • Experience reviewing documentation of research findings presented to product and development teams, as well as new and modified user personals.
  • Experience participating and providing guidance in the creation of concepts, information architecture, user interface designs, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, and specifications to meet project schedules.
  • Ability to synthesize situations and information across multiple factors.
  • Ability to apply company policies and procedures in the resolution of a variety of issues.
  • Ability to give design feedback.
  • 8-10 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance and technical expertise for the most complex user experience activities that include user research and testing, interactive design, and visual design.

Other

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, user experience, design, human computer interaction or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree preferred
  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Build effective relationships with people on their immediate team and across other teams.
  • Get involved with team process and organization.
  • Strong communicator that checks for understanding, asks questions to understand others’ point of view, and advocates for the user experience across the firm.
  • Receive general instructions on routine work from a Lead Designer.
  • Regularly exercise discretion and execute under limited supervision.
