BNY is looking to solve the business and technical problem of designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, service-oriented solutions for internal stakeholders, ensuring high availability and optimal performance of core payment systems, and driving agile delivery of high-quality software for the Paper Payments business.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on software development expertise in C, .NET Core, and Python, delivering production-ready solutions
  • Proven ability to independently architect, build, test, and deploy end-to-end applications with minimal oversight
  • Deep knowledge of relational database systems—MS SQL Server and Oracle—including complex SQL query design, stored procedures, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
  • Proficient in modern version-control workflows using Git (branching models, pull requests, merge conflict resolution)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, service-oriented solutions for internal stakeholders, seamlessly integrating complex databases, third-party components, and external interfaces.
  • Own the full lifecycle of core payment systems—architecting, building, and providing day-to-day operational support—to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
  • Drive agile delivery of high-quality software for the Paper Payments business, from user-story refinement through coding, automated testing, and continuous deployment.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing Paper Payments application, service, and reporting architecture by rapidly diagnosing issues, implementing optimizations, and rolling out new features.
  • Collaborate across engineering, QA, product, and operations teams to define best practices, evaluate new tools and frameworks, and recommend process improvements that accelerate delivery and elevate quality.

  • 6-8 years of experience in a systems SCM environment
  • experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
