The Ohio State University is seeking a Visiting Researcher to assist in natural product drug discovery, focusing on the identification of active principles and biological evaluation to advance research in medicinal chemistry.
Requirements
- PhD in a relevant field
- Experience in natural product drug discovery involving identification of active principles and biological evaluation
- Expertise in cell culture, protein expression, bioassay design, and drug screening (highly recommended)
- Publication record in natural products research
- Ability to work in a collaborative research environment
Responsibilities
- Perform research in the areas of in vitro and in vivo biological evaluation of natural products
- Isolate and structurally characterize natural products
- Modify natural products chemically if necessary
- Apply molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting and PCR
- Utilize natural products chemistry techniques including HPLC, LC-MS, and NMR
- Write research publications and grants
- Train students in research methodologies
