Google's Visual Designers weave space, typography, color, iconography, and texture together to help people successfully navigate our products. The UX team plays an integral part in gathering insights about the behaviors and perceptions of people who use our products to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with each other and with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for the people who use them, and for Google’s businesses. As a Visual Designer, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. Like all of our UX jobs, you’ll collaborate with your design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use. This role requires expertise and understanding in visual design, design systems, user experience and prototyping with attention to detail and a commitment to product excellence. You will help shape and implement a consistent visual design language across all YouTube products.
Requirements
- 4 years of professional experience as a UX Designer, Visual Designer, or a similar role focused on visual design.
- Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).
- 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
- 1 year of experience leading design projects.
- Experience in motion design to elevate user interfaces and storytelling.
- Ability to deliver high-fidelity mocks to define the visual design, feel, and behavior of a product.
Responsibilities
- Influence and shape the future of visual design by being a go-to source of inspiration for the YouTube UX team.
- Partner and consult with feature teams to craft new ideas that deliver on the philosophies and capabilities of the visual design language.
- Build partnerships with UX peers to push the boundaries of how design can be implemented across multiple products.
