Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) needs to develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D visual work instructions and process documentation for ship construction and integration to ensure accuracy and reduce production errors.
Requirements
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP.
- Experience using CAD or 3D modeling software (e.g., NX, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, etc).
- Prior experience creating manufacturing or assembly instructions in a shipbuilding, aerospace, or heavy industrial environment.
- Familiarity with digital manufacturing systems and visual communication standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D visual work instructions and process documentation for ship construction and integration.
- Interpret and convert engineering drawings, models, and specifications into visual workflows for production teams.
- Utilize visualization and authoring software to generate high-quality images and animations.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and production departments to validate content accuracy and ensure alignment with current technical requirements.
- Provide feedback and process improvements to enhance communication and reduce production errors.
- Maintain version control and ensure visual documents adhere to established standards and style guides.
- Analyze digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs).
