Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) needs to analyze digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs).
Requirements
- Knowledge of 3D deliverables, VWI's, TeamCenter, NX, NGP, or SAP.
- Experience in Design, detail Planning or Production Control.
- Experience developing and revieiwng checking technical documents.
Responsibilities
- Analyze digital design data and utilize these products in conjunction with build plans to create quality and accurate Visual Work Instructions (VWIs).
- Interprets and adds design elements and portions of systems for VWIs to meet manufacturing and installation requirements.
- Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, Teamcenter, NX, SAP, NGP and TDP.
- Incorporates required changes as applicable.
- Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

- Associate's Degree in relevant field and 3 Years of relevant experience
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- High School/GED and 2 years of related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years of non-related Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience
- Prior shipbuilding experience.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with suppliers/customers.
