Chugach Electric Association is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead and oversee the engineering department, ensuring the successful execution of distribution, transmission and substation projects, innovation in design, and adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design, and analysis.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Alaska or equivalent certification, required.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, designers, CAD/GIS techs, ROW agents and managers.
- Develop and implement the strategy aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Identify emerging technologies and trends to keep the company at the forefront of the industry.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team.
- Review and approve designs, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, codes, laws, and safety protocols.
Other
- Minimum of 10 years of experience engineering in the electric utility industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
