Synchrony is looking for a leader to manage engineering teams, ensure seamless and secure digital experiences, and bridge the gap between engineering, product, and design
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 5+ years of experience in web application development, design, and architecture
- Proven experience leading people on high-performing teams
- Strong background in ReactJS, TypeScript, NextJS, Cypress
- Experience with AWS cloud services
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices
Responsibilities
- Ensure optimal staffing levels and manage staffing transitions thoughtfully
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice adoption across the front-end engineering community
- Maintain and create documentation, ensuring knowledge is shared and accessible
- Identify and resolve inefficiencies or friction in developer experience
- Step in to resolve conflicts between product, design, and engineering, reducing delivery 'swirl'
- Provide on call support and step in during escalations
- Drive CI/CD best practices using our deployment stack

- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across organizational levels
