The Vice President, Software Engineering will lead software engineering for a line of business or set of products with annual revenue exceeding $100m, aiming to improve outcomes and economics in the healthcare ecosystem.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience developing, deploying and operating solutions for commercial cloud (AWS, Azure)
- Minimum of 8 years' experience building/deploying/operating Hadoop based applications and infrastructure
- Mastery level of knowledge of the following: Virtualized infrastructure technologies
- Mastery level of knowledge of the following: Java and .NET platforms
- Mastery level of knowledge of the following: SQL database infrastructure
- Mastery level of knowledge of the following: Agile methodologies
- Experience performing technology due diligence for acquisition targets and integrating acquired companies
Responsibilities
- Accountable for architecture, design, and delivery of multiple software products that make up a product portfolio
- Work with the Product Management team to establish an annual roadmap for the products
- Align the roadmap to a target portfolio investment mix. Drive improvements to the portfolio mix, reducing maintenance cost and increasing investment in new products
- Lead design and implementation of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and implement all products/projects in accordance with the SDLC
- Participate with Product Management and business leaders to define new products and services
- Partner with the Customer Success organization to address product and solution issues as well as building process to systematically improve product quality
- Manage all aspects of the engineering budget for a line of business or set of products
Other
- Minimum of 15 years of experience leading global software development teams.
- Extensive experience managing global engineering teams of 100 or more.
- Clear understanding of software product business concepts, markets and strategies for growing software businesses. Preference for leading engineering teams at both start up and large software companies.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., Healthcare, Financial Services).
- Strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective.
