Walt Disney Animation Studios is seeking talented and passionate individuals for its Summer 2026 Technology Internship Program to gain insight into how technology supports and enhances the creative process at an animation studio, while expanding skills through mentorship from industry experts.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, JavaScript, SQL, or similar.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like macOS, Windows, or Linux, as well as experience with software tools such as Maya, Houdini, or similar.
  • Experience with Code Assists (e.g., Github Copilot, Claude), web frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
  • Knowledge of ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Experience with Knowledge of MLOps pipelines, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), or database management.
  • Familiarity with animation workflows, computer graphics, media systems, or IT asset management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teams to develop and enhance tools, systems, and applications that support the animation pipeline and artist workflows, including web development, data engineering, graphics engineering, and backend systems.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT and media systems, networking, contributing to infrastructure development, asset management, and hardware configuration to ensure seamless operations across the studio.
  • Provide desktop support and troubleshoot technical issues, working closely with the studio’s helpdesk and systems operations teams to ensure a smooth user experience for our artists and technologists.
  • Our work often gives technologists the opportunity to interface with artists directly to triage issues.

Other

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university with a major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, AI/ML, Human Computer Interaction, Design, Digital Art, Animation, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • A passion for technology, animation, and storytelling.
  • College Junior or Senior preferred
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
