The School of Medicine’s Office of Research and Graduate Education needs to develop and maintain web-based applications and tools to support research administration, graduate education, and training programs. This includes providing analytical and reporting support, efficient data management, and improved operations through effective analytics and reporting.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Microsoft Visual Studio or a similar front-end framework.
  • Basic experience with server-side development.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web service integration.
  • Understanding of relational databases and basic SQL.
  • Experience in a university or research-intensive environment.
  • Exposure to biomedical or research data systems (e.g., REDCap, eRA Commons, NIH RePORTER).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain advanced, responsive, accessible web applications using modern frameworks and technologies.
  • Create search interfaces where users can input queries or filters that return targeted data on the webpage or form.
  • Develop interactive web forms and applications for data collection.
  • Ensure data validation processes within the application while maintaining responsive designs.
  • Establish and manage the connectivity between web applications and back-end databases.
  • Design and implement advanced RESTful APIs and web services for data exchange across internal and external systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • At least three years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
