The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Web Application Developer II to work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of hands-on systems analysis, software development, design, and application development experience or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
  • Two (2) years of Sitecore Experience with knowledge of Sitecore Templates, Layouts, components, Sitecore API.
  • Experience and strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle.
  • Experience designing and developing applications based on the system requirements, utilizing web technologies.
  • Experience and strong understanding of Web Application Development architecture, and infrastructure, including Application Servers, Web Servers, Cloud Technologies and Web Application Security.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
  • Experience with version control tools, such as SVN/Git, DevOps.

Responsibilities

  • Participates and occasionally lead in the design, coding, testing and deployment of applications based on technical specifications using industry’s best practices and standard toolsets.
  • Works with team developers in applications development, schedules, and activities, assists in troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
  • Collaborates with team developers in working with clients to effectively document the customer’s business processes and requirements and follow Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Will assist Sr Developers in the mentoring of Jr Developers.
  • Follows the standards and best practices, utilizes templates and adheres to the code standards provided by Sr Developers.
  • Works with the team in code review and testing.
  • Will assist the Sr Developers in defining and developing the best practices, code standards and templates.

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Computer Technology, Information or Computer Systems.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow the directions of Sr Developers in assigned tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for communicating with internal and external parties.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
